About the event
Owing to major reforms in 2010, Myanmar today has 105% SIM penetration and 80% smartphone penetration, making it the fastest-growing mobile internet markets in the region. Mobile network coverage has reached the majority of rural, previously underserved, communities which opened up a largely cash-dependent society to a wide variety of new e-commerce products and an expanding technology start-up scene. Digital transformation is happening at a rapid pace in many sectors including agriculture. This workshop will explore the ICT landscape in Myanmar's agriculture through the lens of key industry leaders (Financial Institution, AgTech Startup, Weather Data Company and Agribusiness) who are driving the digital innovations and will unravel new insights that align with the WSIS action plans.
